OUR AIMS are:

1.    To provide a quality service at an affordable price.

We appreciate that an income that had serviced one household may now have to stretch to two and that even with such financial constraints Public Funding (formerly known as Legal Aid) may not be available to you.

We understand that at the time of separation or other family difficulties you will need access to  legal advice at a time and place convenient to you which may not be during  normal office hours.  We offer consultations between 8am and 8pm everyday and are happy to meet with you at a mutually convenient venue.

2.   To provide a fast and efficient service.

• ensuring your matter is dealt with by a qualified solicitor
• being available to you at weekends and evenings
• keeping you informed  and involved as the matter progresses
• using plain english, not  legal jargon
• advising you on the options available and consequences of various steps
• providing regular information about costs
• advising you when another expert needs to be instructed eg a barrister, a surveyor
• answering your email and telephone calls within 24 hours
• answering your correspondence within 3 working days (or advising you when a substantive response can be expected)

3.  To keep our fees to a minimum.  

Legal services are usually charged on an hourly rate: ie for the amount of time spent on your matter.  Our scale of charges starts at £85 per hour plus vat and disbursements (these are the costs incurred  on your behalf eg court fees, expert fees, travel expenses).  Furthermore we will review the overall costs of the case in light of the work undertaken to ensure that they are fair and reasonable in the circumstances. 

We are happy to agree a fixed fee with you where this is appropriate.

4.  To provide you with regular cost information. 

We will provide you with an estimate of the likely costs to be incurred at the outset and will revise this from time to time  as the matter progresses.  We will keep you informed of the costs which have been incurred at relevant stages.
